Dr Knisely, my thoughts and prayers are with your friends and family. You fought a valiant battle with cancer. You managed to fit more trips, dinners, parties into the last couple of years than most people do in a lifetime. You chose to live and that was a great lesson for me. I am honored to have worked with you when you were a resident in anesthesia at UC and later in the OR at Bethesda North. You will be missed.

To Sharon and family members of Jan, I am so very sorry to hear of Jan's passing. He was a remarkable man and talented physician. I first met him in 1974 when I transferred to Bethesda North. At that time he was an Internist and later I worked with him in the OR after he became an Anestheologist. Even though you will miss him, the Lord has him in His care now, where there is no more pain and suffering. I'm sure he will be an asset to Him with all the knowledge he gleaned on earth. Sharon, I'll be calling to check on you. Please take care of yourself now! I know you loved him and I know how worn out you are. Know that you are loved and thought of very often. Love, Mary Tom

Dear Lauren and Katie, Just want you both to know how much we are thinking of you both and keeping you in our prayers! As you may know, my father passed away 3 years ago also from cancer. I write from experience to you both that I understand how hard it is to let go, but ....the blessing that you all were able to be there and comfort your Dad through many of his tough moments is a memory you will always hold. Although we moved away about 9 years ago, our Miami Ct. times were some of the best...dinners with the neighbors, birthday party activities, and good times will always be remembered. One time , I was alone, feeling ill, and quite scared...it must have been 11:30 at night and I call your Dad. He assured me that I would be OK and that he was just across the street if I needed him... As Bill was out of town and I had 3 little girls sleeping, it was a big comfort to hear Jan tell me he was there if needed. Please know that Bill and I and the girls send our condolences and know that we are here, just 3 miles away from your child hood home if you need us. Love, Laurel, Bill, Hillary, Claire and Corey

To the entire Knisely Family, So very sorry for your loss. It is never easy. Jan was such a very special person who gave so much to his family, friends, patients and community. He was always thinking of everyone else other than himself. His presence here will be missed so much by all of us, and especially you his family. May we all try and continue to live as he did in his memory, to be always generous, loving and giving to all. May the peace of Christ comfort you at this very difficult time, and as he is now in heaven with our Lord, may he be at peace knowing he carried out God's will in all that he did for all of us while he was with us here on earth. I know I speak for my entire family in saying we felt honored and very privileged for the time spent with Jan. Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Quick and family
