FEIL Gary G. of Indian Hill - Gary G. Feil, a former executive for Procter and Gamble & Co., died Friday, December 18th, after a hard battle with cancer at the age of 77. Mr. Feil was born in Detroit, Michigan, joined the army reserves, and finished college in 1957. He joined Procter and Gamble while in Detroit, and it was there that he married his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Feil. They moved several times throughout the years but finally settled in Cincinnati and have been Indian Hill residents for over 43 years. In the early 1980's he helped open Procter and Gamble's business up to China and Eastern Europe when the Berlin Wall came down. He was also very active at this time with The United Way and led a campaign over a three year period to raise $101,000,000 to save Good Samaritan Hospital, a civil war era facility, from demolition. After retiring from Procter and Gamble in 1993, as Head of World Wide sales personnel, Mr. Feil opened his own consulting and investment business in downtown Cincinnati where he continued to work until late last year. Mr. Feil loved nature and his country. He loved to fish and hunt and had been a member of the Sugar Hill Gun Club for 38 years. He loved to play poker with his buddies and played right up until he became too weak to play. Mr. Feil loved to plant trees and work in the yard, go fossil hunting, as well as swim laps in the pool. He was an avid reader and history buff. He always had a great attitude about life and his favorite quote by Abraham Lincoln summarized his life, "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years". In addition to his wife Bonnie, survivors include two daughters, Kim Feil of Chicago Illinois, Kelly Feil-Addy of Anderson Township, a son in law, Mark Addy and two grandchildren; Harrison Addy and Emily Addy. The memorial service will be held on January 21st at 10AM at the Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church, 5125 Drake Rd. (45243). Memorials: Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597 (45246).
