I just spoke to a fellow parishioner at St. Gertrude's a week ago who said she had recently visited Joyce in Columbus. What a surprise to see the obituary! Deepest condolences to all Joyce's loved ones! She loved her family so much, and would often update me on how they were doing, or ask for my prayers for them at Saturday evening Mass. She loved her home, her neighbors, and apparently had a devotion to St. Padre Pio who had intervened in a very special way for someone in her family. She was a classy lady, who dressed so nicely to come to Mass, even in her 90s...and maintained her independence at home and driving (even driving to IN to visit loved ones) well into her advanced years. Praying for the repose of her soul, and for peace and consolation to all her loved ones. God bless you all.

Joyce and Jim became our next-door neighbors when we moved to Madeira in 1987. We enjoyed frequent conversations in our adjoining yards, where we could find Jim beautifying their property (and no, Jim, we still haven’t figured out how to conquer the moles), and with Joyce, who never tired of hearing about the latest development with our two sons.
After Jim passed, Joyce remained amazingly independent and active, always interested in neighborhood activities as she watched the neighborhood kids grow up. They were both very dear, and we will miss her.

Joyce snd Jim were our neighbors in Madeira. They were such wonderful people and I will always remember their kindnesses to our family, especially our young children.
After Jim died I often frequented Mass with Joyce at Saint Gertrude. She had a strong faith and I am sure that is what she relied on throughout her life. We know her family will miss her as she was a devoted wife, mother snd grandmother. May she rest in peace.

To Joyce D. Meiners's, family and friends.
My sincere condolences to your family. May Jehovah God provide the comfort needed to your family and friends during this difficult time.
We're so sorry for your loss. Please know that Jehovah God says there will be a resurrection for both the righteous and the unrighteous. Acts 24:15.
Also, Jehovah God said "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4.
