Dear grandmother to Kris, Kara, Erika, James, Daniel, Julia, Andrea, Katie, Laura, Nevin, Emily, James, Julie and Christine, and great-grandmother to 23 children. Joyce is survived by her youngest brother, Robert J. Dumbacher of Naples, FL and sisters-in-law Dorothy (David, Jr.) Dumbacher, Joan (John) Dumbacher, and Kathryn (Paul) Behrends of Cincinnati, OH and Mary (Robert) Dumbacher of Naples, FL along with many nieces and nephews. Joyce was born and raised in the Avondale area of Cincinnati, the second of nine children to David and Ruth (nee Siebenthaler) Dumbacher. She attended Ursuline Academy and was a member of the Class of 1945.After high school graduation, Joyce attended secretarial school and shortly thereafter went to work at General Electric in Evandale where she met Jim, the love of her life. They married in 1951 and ultimately settled in Madeira, where they raised their six children and lived for over 60 years. Joyce and Jim were longtime members of St. Gertrude's Parish, and together they were dedicated and engaged in numerous activities and organizations involving their children, church and community. After Jim retired in 1987, they enjoyed traveling the country, and occasionally abroad, to visit their growing family and take in the beautiful attractions and landmarks along the way. After Jim passed in 2012, Joyce continued to travel to visit her children and grandchildren, and especially loved visiting New York City to take in a Broadway musical, as she had done years earlier as a young girl. Visitation for Joyce will be held on Friday, January 3rd in the Parish Center at St. Gertrude Parish, 6543 Miami Rd.
