Aquilla was a dear college friend, I lost track of her years ago, and stumbled this obituary today. She was a wonderful person and a very intelligent student. I plan on seeing her in Heaven some day. but until then. I will enjoy very pleasant memories of our days at Rio Grande.

OMG, I worked for years with Aquila in Magazines and Newspapers before I retired and the department was dissolved shortly thereafter. She was the sweetest, most positive person, the easiest person to work with, and the hardest worker you could imagine. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone, and she would always go out of her way to be helpful. I truly enjoyed working with her. The world has lost a shining light. Marianne Reynolds

My husband worked with Aquila at the downtown public library. During some visit to the department, I had the opportunity to enjoy one of her lemon squares & mentioned how much I loved them. Before long, Steve brought home my own pan of the most delicious lemon squares ever! She was quietly thoughtful & generous, & a hard-working colleague of Steve’s. I appreciated her friendship then, & will keep her friends & family in my prayers now.

Aunt Aquila was the most precious sweet Aunt. I remember going to Ohio on summer vacation and would love when her and Uncle Joe would visit us. I remember her going for walks to look at flowers with my sweet Grandma. We would sit under the shade trees and visit. She had the most beautiful hand writing. She will truly be missed.❤️

Aquila is my aunt. My mother was her oldest sister. She was only 8 years older than me. So when we went Grandma's house Aunt Aquila was there to play with my sister Debbie and I. She taught me how to make mud pies, real mud being the main ingredient, also she taught me never to pick Queen Anne's lace or I'd surely get chiggers. We walked down a gravel road on Sunday morning to Sunday school at Buckeye Furnace. One Sunday morning on the way I stepped over a long piece of rubber and either Debbie or Aunt Aquila screamed "snake ". The snake took off and so did we
All the way back to Grandma's house. In the winter, Debbie, Aunt Aquila and I slept together in a big ol' feather bed! It was so cozy and warm. I could go on and on about Aunt Aquila, she was a great artist and had the most beautiful blue eyes. I love her and will see those gorgeous eyes again someday and I she won't stop me from picking Queen Anne's lace because there won't be any chiggers in Heaven.

We met Aquila when she joined Marielders Art Club led by artist Dave Laug. We enjoyed good times drawing and painting ( and partying) at The Barn in Mariemont and later on Zoom during Covid restrictions. Aquila loved to draw and she often produced colorful and fun drawings and paintings. She had recently rejoined the group on Zoom. She was a big fan of Dave’s Art Flix also. A sweet nature and a good sense of humor were part of her charm. We will miss her. Fun photos posted in remembrance of Aquila Stoner.
