My deepest condolences. He was a mentor, a teacher, a peer and most importantly - a friend. I learned a great deal from him and will always remember fondly making rounds with him. A pioneer in his field and an inspiration to so many of us!
I was likewise impressed with his oboe playing, and we would often have long discussions about his musical activities.
Although he is physically gone, rest assured that his memory will live on in the minds of his students and friends.
