Word of John's passing has made it to California, via communications among his grade school buddies. I bumped into John only a few times in the past 50 years, such as at parish festivals, and those encounters only reinforced my lasting memory of him as a good guy, always with a smile and a story, and an innate ability to show an interest in you. Condolences; it is obvious he will be missed.

Sometimes after a death of a love one we feel lost. We look around and people are going to work, grilling out and laughing we wonder to ourselves why? Why, can't they see my grief, feel my sadness. You catch yourself at a moment of love, a moment of happiness and think to yourself. I have just losted a love one how can I be smiling? How can I enjoy the laughter of my grandchildren? You almost feel guilty for it. But remember you are still living, you still have a purpose. You where giving a gift of loving that person. You will always feel sorrow and you will feel happiness again.

John was a good man with a huge heart. I first met John when my brothers band played at one of Johns bars years back. I also frequented Stagge’s bar in Rossmoyne and Stagge’s 2 in Reading. Met Angie once she and John were married and liked her immediately. Angie, you’ve been a fantastic person since the day I’ve met you and you and John were great together. Please accept my condolences as my heart breaks for you and your family. Fly high John Stagge, you were a good man that everyone loved and respected.
