Obituary of Virginia House
Virginia K., passed away peacefully at the age of 101 years old, in the home she and her husband built and she lived in for over 60 years in Indian Hill. She was preceded by her husband Harry C. House and mother Mary Kamuf. She leaves behind a loving and devoted family, daughter and caregiver Wendy H. McAdams, son-in-law Peter McAdams, son Jeff House and grandson Justin Hoye-House. She loved living in Cincinnati! We’ll always cherish one family vacation when looking for a place to stay, she announced to the Virginia Visitors Bureau, “We’re from Cincinnati, so we want something Nice!” Ginny was an avid animal lover, especially dogs, preceded by Duffy, Lupi, and Rudy to name a few. One sunny afternoon she was given a well-earned nickname after being pulled over for speeding when she asked the officer why he didn’t pull over the other people for speeding, and he simply said “Ma’am, you were the Leader of the Pack!” She had a daily routine of drinking a small glass of sherry at noon, a gin and tonic at 6:00 pm and a small glass of Irish Mist before bed every day. It clearly worked well for her! She loved watching the British TV show “Doc Martin”, and other must watch shows Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell, and any tennis match on TV, especially those with her favorite player, Rafa Nadal. And for years, she so enjoyed the Symphony and the Matinee Musicale. She was a devoted member of the League of Women Voters, Dirt Daubers and the Town Club. She will be remembered fondly for the many years she served as CEO of Mole Hill Manor. Any donations in her memory would be greatly appreciated to the SPCA of Cincinnati, 11900 Conrey Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45249.
