Kathryn W.Smith (nee Walter), beloved wife of 49 years to David “Gates” Smith, cherished mother of Meredith E. Smith, Tammy S. Smith and Natalie K. (Rich) Lynch, devoted grandmother of Ryan Smith, Tangela Russ, Christian Russ, David Dashiell, Keegan Smith, Jacob Hoskins, Connor Lynch and Myles Lynch. Loving sister of Judith (Don) Pabst, James (Kimberly) Walter and Jackie (Paul) Keller. She is also survived by many loving friends. Kathy and Gates were involved with World Wide Marriage Encounter for 40+ years, she was also a Pre-School director in New York City, and a teacher at St. Paul Lutheran, Norwood City Schools and Cincinnati Public School System. Passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on April 1 at the age of 72. Visitation will be held Thursday April 6th from 4-8 pm at the Thomas-Justin Memorial 7500 Montgomery Rd. in Kenwood. Funeral service will be Friday April 7th 10 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church 5433 Madison Rd. (45227).
