She was a great grandmother. Its been 8 years since I have seen her. She was a wonderful lady and very sweet. She taught me so much. She was like a star. She drew attention wherever she went. She had a knack for cooking and baking as well as for teaching. My great grandmother was one tough lady. She went through a lot, but she made the best of it.

Mrs. Keefe taught me a love of science and an appreciation of nature. She was my Biology II teacher in 1971-72 at Sycamore. She was so skilled at content and teaching. I think of her often and it makes me smile. I am sorry for your loss and know that she lives on in the memories of her students.

Lois Keefe was a dedicated member of the Madeira Woman's Club for many years. I was fortunate to have met Lois and work with her at the Clothes Closet, a used clothing store in Madeira, run by the ladies in the club. Lois was always full of vim and vigor and had lots of creative ideas of how to carry out the daily activities at the Clothes Closet. She had a witty sense of humor and shared stories of her travels and her years of teaching. She was so very proud of her children and talked about them often. I remember stories of her son. She treated me to dinner at the White House Inn on a Saturday several years ago and sent me a picture she cut from the paper of my husband and me. I visited her at her very cute condo in Montgomery when she was recuperating from an illness. I believe she was so appreciative of my visit, that she treated me to that White House Inn dinner. Lois was a blessing to me. She's the feisty, spunky side of me that I need to develop. I admire her pushing forward in the face of adversity and never forgetting a kindness. I saw her at the Clothes Closet a year or two ago and told her I would call her and take her to dinner. I regret that in my procrastination and in her passing, I will not have the chance to dine with my friend!

Hello! I taught with Lois at Sycamore for several years. I was upstairs doing chemistry while she was downstairs doing biology. Over the years, I have met several of her former students. They all remember her class as a favorite because of her breadth of knowledge and her high standards of instruction. I am sorry that I could not attend her memorial service today. I was planting trees with eight of my students - a project that had been scheduled for several days. But on this glorious day, I thought about her as I worked alongside teenagers and placed new life into the ground to enhance God's natural world. A perfect tribute to this fine woman and teacher!

Andrea and the Keefe Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember thinking, during those school days in Pleasant Ridge, how cool it would have been to have a mother who was a teacher. It sounds like she led a very exciting and full life. What a great lady! Judi Hammer Boothe

Mrs. Keefe was my science teacher in seventh and ninth grade at Woodward. She was an excellent teacher and always kind and fair. I remember that she made science interesting, too, with several lab activities. I am very sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Irene Friedman
