When I was a little girl our family would "vacation" at the Griffin farm in Milford. When your family went away on vacation, our family would move out to the farm for a week or two and take care of the animals and chores. Your farm was my introduction to horses, never let your brother (1 1/2 years older than me) saddle your horse or the saddle will slip and before you know it you will be riding bareback! Also learned about cattle - run after you bang on the feed trough, Shetland ponies are mean, chickens don't like their eggs taken away from them and electric fences hurt! Wonderful memories! My Mom, MaryJane, who passed away in December of 2007 and my Dad, Wes, who passed away in March of 2008 thought the experience would help us grow - boy did it. Your parents were great friends of my folks, I think mainly through Kappa Kappa Gamma, but am not sure. I know they talked of them fondly and were thankful for their friendship. Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your Father.

We enjoyed visiting with Dale and speaking French. He would often correct me when I spoke French wrong. Karl asked me to name the trail in Oregonia and I said Happy Dale Trail because Dale was always happy. We got to know Dale about 11 years ago and he was fun to be with. He had some good war stories about how his French kept him off the front lines. We will miss spending holidays with Dale and even though he had some health issues lately, he was inspiring to others. He is in heaven speaking French with the angels. May God bless him and the family during this difficult time.

I will always remember Mr. Griffin as a kind and fun loving man who gave me my first job. Those of us who worked for him through the 70's could share some fun stories. It was a great place to work and had a family atmosphere. Tim, Tom, Amy, and Danny you really did have a wonderful father. He and Mr. Fletcher were so good to Irma, Judy and I when we lost our parents so young. My deepest condolences on the loss of a wonderful man. Bonnie (Fitters) Carr
