To the entire Susshine family---what can I say that has not already said by other people who Joey touched in his short stay on earth. You know that I know he is in grandma's arms and now she can protect him as I know he will protect us. Joey's memories will allow him to live forever in our hearts and this is how I will be able to cope with this tragedy. I love all you very much and please know that your pain is my pain and we will get through this together and become a stronger family for it just as Joey had planned it. Hang tough and we will never forget!

To the Susshine Family, We were so sad to hear of Joey passing. I can still remember the first time I meant him, a smiling young kid, just happy to come see his sister at college for sibs weekend! And yet everytime I saw him again, there he was, the always happy smiling young man! And he'd always have something funny to keep you smiling! We will miss him greatly. You are all a wonderful family and we will be praying for you so that you are there for each other during this time of need. May God be with you! Mr & Mrs. Susshine, We were both greatly hurt to hear about the passing of Joey. He to myself and my twin brother was a good friend and in my short time here on earth, I can honestly say I have never had a friend like Joe, let me rephrase that a best friend like Joe. You both did such a great job raising him, Katie, and Stephanie. Such wonderful, giving and, caring people you all are. In this time of sadness we will continue to pray for your whole family. It was such terrible news to hear of the passing of Joey. My husband and I both worked with him at Kroger's, and had remained friends with him after we both left. I then ran into Joey down at Cincinnati State, where we were going to school. He was always so positive and happy about everything. It's hard to believe that he is gone.
