Please share a memory of Lynne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
GELLENBECK Lynne, devoted mother of Hadley Sauers. Passed away on Tuesday, January 29th at the age of 63. Her family and friends will have a celebration at a later date. Lynne was born in Youngstown, OH but was raised in Cincinnati and went to Indian Hill High School. After high school she went to Duke University where she completed her undergraduate work then went on to law school at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Upon returning to Cincinnati, Lynne joined the Kroger Company and worked as an attorney there for 32 years, retiring in December of 2012. In her spare time, Lynne was active member of the diving community with the Indian Hill Swim Club, serving as a judge for almost 20 years. She became involved when her daughter took an interest in diving. She was a contributing member and listener of Cincinnati Public Radio. In July of 2010 Lynne was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Primary Peritoneal Cancer is a cancer of the lining of the abdomen and is extremely difficult to diagnose. It was incredibly important to Lynne that anyone she spoke with became aware of this cancer. If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to Cincinnati Public Radio, 1223 Central Parkway (45214) or Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633507 (45263-3597). Condolences may be shared with her family and friends through our website, ThomasJustinMemorial.com.
