LITTMANN Walter E. Littmann, 86, passed on to heaven Friday, December 14, 2012 surrounded by his children. He was a devoted husband to Jane (deceased) and loving father to his children. His love and obedience to the Lord were evident throughout his life. He enjoyed working as a metallurgical engineer doing research for Timken, Dresser Industries, and Failure Analysis Associates after earning a doctorate from MIT. He also enjoyed golf, skiing, and traveling. Upon retirement he served as a missionary, through the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, in Alaska,Thailand and North Vietnam .He also volunteered locally as a tutor and in two food pantries. He is survived by his children, Bob Littmann (Kathy), Phil Littmann (Nancy), Martin Littmann (Marnee), and Carrie Tall (Darrell), two sisters, Esther Clark and Helen (Rick) Weis, as well as 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5433 Madison Road on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 with at 11:00 a.m. with funeral service following at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to LCMS World Missions.The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Mission Advancement, 1333 S. Kirkwood Road , St. Louis, MO 63122-7295.
