Obituary of Mary B. Dunphy

Mary Dunphy (nee Fugazzi) adored wife of the late Paul Dunphy, beloved mother of Julie Dunphy (Fred Price) and Katie Tranter (Chris), and loving grandmother to Alyssa and Kylie. Daughter of the late Robert Fugazzi and Ann Hurr (nee Schorr) and loyal sister to Linda Stein (Jerry), the late Rebecca Eisenmann (John), the late Barbara Hilb (the late Charles), the late Judith Stults (George), Robert Fugazzi, and Steven Fugazzi (Carol). Caring aunt to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Cherished friend to many especially her Friday night group. Mary was born in Northern Kentucky and grew up in Cincinnati where she built an amazing life with Paul and family. She was described by many as one of the strongest women they knew. She was passionate about her work as a customer care representative at OPW Fueling where she worked for 19 years. She was an immensely generous person who had a gift for making everyone feel important and special. Everyone was welcomed for happy hour and her dry sense of humor was appreciated by all who knew her. She enjoyed playing golf, doing puzzles, and playing games, especially bridge with her monthly bridge group and Mexican train with her granddaughters. She had a great interior decorating eye and loved to decorate her house or anyone else’s house if they asked. Mary’s journey with cancer ended on August 31, 2024, and she will be greatly missed by so many. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name be directed to the Annie Myers Scholarship Fund, St. Ursula Academy, 1339 E McMillan Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45206. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3rd, from 5-7pm at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 4th at 9:30am at St. Gertrude Parish, 6543 Miami Ave. (45243) Madeira.
