Obituary of Angelina S. Droste
Angelina S. (nee Davis) Droste passed away peacefully at Jewish Hospital on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the age of 71, surrounded by her loving husband John and both of her boys, Christopher and Philip.
Although being somewhat of a homebody, Angelina traveled far and wide with her family, from Germany to Australia and from Venezuela to the Artic Ocean. She was born in Dayton, OH, the second of a set of twins. In her early years, she would spend her summers on a farm with her Grandma Shew (short for Meshew) where she learned country cooking and how to tweak recipes. Later her family moved to Norwood, OH and she met her high school sweetheart John. They later married on July 14, 1973, at St. Matthew’s Church in Norwood.
Being a mother to her two boys was the love of her life. Angelina was the quintessential Mother Bear. She would protect her boys at all costs. She also was a great cook, loved arts and crafts and had a huge green thumb, winning several Blue Ash Beautification awards with her signature red and white Impatiens.
Angelina is survived by her husband, John; sons, Christopher (Lisa) and Philip; two grandchildren, David and Bailey; sisters, Beverly (Robert) Winkelman, Joyce (Steven) Stort, Mary (Mark) Ziegler; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Edna Davis and her twin sister Kathleen (Paul) Ballard.
The visitation will be held Wednesday September 4, 2024, from 10AM until the time of the funeral service at 11AM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Blue Ash.
Flowers are welcome but a donation to your favorite charity in Angelina’s name might have a bigger effect, or consider a donation to VOX United, so that others can have safe drinking water.
