Obituary of Diane F. Rockwell

ROCKWELL Diane F. (nee Lundin), beloved wife of the late R. James Rockwell, cherished mother of Greg (Anne) Rockwell and Rick (Darcy) Rockwell, devoted grandmother of A.J., Addie, Christopher, Nicholas, and Nathan Rockwell. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer G. and Eda (nee Johnson) Lundin and her stepmother, Maxine (nee White), as well as her sister, Karen Griffin. Diane was a graduate of Western Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati as a Spanish Education major. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority that she really enjoyed. She married her husband, Ronald James Rockwell Jr., on February 10, 1968, and had the first of her two sons in 1970 and the second in 1974. After a brief career as a Spanish teacher at Walnut Hills High School, she stayed home to raise her children for over 15 years. Diane was always assisting with the family business, RLI (Rockwell Laser Industries), which they began over 40 years ago in Madeira. She worked full time for RLI as a bookkeeper before she retired to enjoy retirement with her family. In 1999, Diane overcame cancer, having been treated with exceptional care and medical breakthroughs from the Cancer Center at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood, OH. Since the passing of her husband in 2003, Diane focused on supporting her two boys and 5 grandchildren. Diane had a special relationship with her sister Karen whom she deeply loved. On Sunday, January 7th, Diane passed away in her home at the age of 79. Diane was a devoted wife, a loving mother and dedicated grandmother. Those areas of her life are where she experienced much joy. The Rockwell family will host a visitation on Sunday, January 14th from 12 Noon until 2PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood. The funeral service will be held the next morning at 9:30AM at the Cedars of Lebanon Chapel (inside the Memorial Mausoleum) at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave. (45232).
