Obituary of Dorothy "Dottie" M. Kinsel

Dorothy "Dottie" Margaret (nee Voll) Kinsel, 84, died on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dottie is survived by her 3 children: Jennifer (Yacoub) Kordahi, Amy (Marc) Goebel, and Thomas Kinsel; her 5 grandchildren: Andrew (Stephanie) Kordahi, Talia (Chris) Gilmore, Ryan Kordahi, Adam Goebel, and William Goebel; her sister-in-law, Carole White; and many close friends. Dottie was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Robert (Bob) Kinsel, and by her two brothers, Charles and Richard "Dick" Voll. Born in Southgate, KY, Dottie was the daughter of Emil and Margaret Voll. She graduated from Newport High School in 1957, attended secretarial school, and worked in downtown Cincinnati and Mount Adams. Dorothy married her husband Robert on October 5th, 1963, and they raised their family in Pleasant Ridge. Dottie and Bob were members of Saint Peter’s United Church of Christ, where Dottie was well-known as the church’s secretary and for her neighborly spirit. Dottie was a loving and selfless person. She was extremely thoughtful and always let her loved ones know she was thinking of them by sending cards and letters in the mail to commemorate special occasions. Dottie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She hosted Thanksgiving nearly every year, and she was known to celebrate the holidays by baking cookies, sending out Christmas cards, and putting out her seasonal house décor. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4th, from 8:30 am until 10 am at the Thomas-Justin Memorial, located at 7500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236. A procession will follow to Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Kentucky for the burial. All are welcome to attend.
