Devoted grandmother of Eric (Andrea) Schoofs, Lauren (Joe) Allie, Andrew (Erin) Schoofs, Lucas Nartker, Ashley Nartker, Jordan (Kyle) Smith, and Ryan Barnes. Proud great-grandmother of Mila, Esme and Joseph Allie, Eliot and Ada Schoofs, Lincoln Schoofs, Griffin and Remy Smith. Loving sister of the late Theodore (Marianne) Neukirchen. Catherine was an active resident of the Amberacres Ambassador’s Condo Community and loved attending the Cincinnati Ballet, Pops and musicals at the Aronoff Center with her girlfriends. She enjoyed being a part of the 55 Club at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kenwood and was also a volunteer for Hoxworth Blood Center. Catherine was the transportation coordinator for Stepping Stones Center for over 20 years. Catherine was born in Leverkusen, Germany. She lived in Germany until 1960, when she moved to the United States with John and Thomas to help further John’s career as a mechanical engineer. In 1969, further job opportunities led the now family of 5 to settle in the Cincinnati area. After witnessing the injustices during World War II as a teenager, Catherine became a dedicated and vocal volunteer at the voting polls in the United States. She made sure to remind everyone that it was a duty and privilege to vote. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 10:30AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, 7754 Montgomery Rd.
