Maddalena was a wonderful friend, and a true artist. I went to see her every four weeks for 26 years. Even when I lived in Dayton, I drove to Cincinnati for 5 of those years, because she was the only one I trusted with my hair, and more importantly, with my deepest thoughts. We loved sharing stories about our family recipes and traditions -- and laughing about the fun times that we had when we were with our families. She was a wonderful friend, in good times and when things were really difficult. I loved her very much, and am so thankful for her friendship. I'm also grateful that her suffering is over, and, even though I already miss her, I am grateful that she can finally rest in peace. So, rest in peace dear Maddalena . . . and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Sweet, sweet Maddalena. She made all her customers feel like family. My mom and I went to her. I was 21 when I met her and I am Maddalena’s age now. She was an artist in her craft. My mom went to her looking like a Q-Tip and Maddalena made her feel beautiful again. She did the same for my cousin whose step-brother is a beautician and my cousin never felt more beautiful than after Maddalena styled her hair. She was a gift on so many levels. We are all blessed for having known her.

For 30 years Maddelena was my hair stylist and friend. I looked forward to seeing her every six weeks even after we moved to indianapolis. She shared so many stories of family events and of the family making pasta and cooking together. We often shared recipes and each year I wanted to hear about the Christmas Eve dinner of the seven fishes. She found joy in her trips to the beach or just driving down 52 to Ripley. I admired how she cared for her family and friends and she was always so thoughtful. I will miss her.

When Someone Dies, their Spirit Lives on in Us!
We can't hug them or see them with our eyes.
But we can still feel them in our hearts.
That brings me comfort.
I hope it does for you, too...
When we love someone,they become an indelible force in our lives, even after they're gone.
We remember the way they told a joke, wore their hair, and walked into a room.
The littlest things will trigger memories of the sound of their voice, their scent, the times we spent with them.
We recall how they dealt with hard situations when we are faced with the same things.
We think about them for no reason at all:
What would they say right now?
We will always wonder: are they watching over us?
Do they know how much we miss them?
Even though we'll never see loved ones who've passed on walk through the front door again,
I hope you can find peace with the knowledge that you'll always have a part of them with you.

I was blessed to have Maddie as a friend and co worker. We shared many fun times together and I will miss that part. She loved to talk about food and how to prepare it.
