I am so sorry to hear of Ellen's passing. As part of the Lakota nurses group I can say she was wonderful to work with and always dedicated to her students and staff. One thing was clear when spending time with Ellen: she was so very pleased and proud of her family: her children, their spouses and her grandchildren. She will be missed.

Jake and I first met Ellen in our neighborhood where we all raised our kids together. Ellen and Mike’s house butted our back yard. Lots of parties in our neighborhood to include a prom with corsages, dancing, and a hot tub! As time went on our friends in the neighborhood went on a houseboat that was one of the best times we had!! Lots of girlfriends trips thru the years! For the last several years all us women would meet every other week for lunch or dinner to share what all of us were doing as we all became retired. These friends are lasting friends for us all and Ellen like all of us looked forward to these get togethers! Will miss you so much sweet friend!

Q: What will you never forget about Ellen?
A: Ellen was such a caring, amazing nurse with a great personality! I worked with her for many years at Cherokee Elementary. We were also birthday twins. :) What I appreciate most about her is when my daughter, Haley Weber, was 6 years old, she found out she had scoliosis. She had to wear a complicated brace under her clothes and take it off every time she used the bathroom for 9 years. I was also going through a tough divorce at the time, so Haley had a lot on her plate. Ellen was the nurse at Liberty Elementary at the time. She was there for Haley every single day through her difficult time!!! Ellen would let Haley use the restroom every time in the nurse's office while she got used to her brace. They had a special relationship.
My daughter is 25 years old now, and she lives in California acting in movies and travel nursing. I told her about Mrs. Moffo's passing, and she said that is so sad and she LOVED her!!
I'm praying for Ellen's family through this difficult time. I will always remember her fondly! I can still here her voice now...

Life takes us in many directions and we drift due to distance and activities. Many wonderful memories stay with us. Ellen was an inspiration and fun friend through many years. She was always up for the wild things to do. Lots of golf together and fun parties. Skinny dipping in the neighborhood pool and girls nights. One crazy time, we took off on our houseboat dingy on the Ohio river. We both had drinks and Ellen had a cigarette. The little boat had a gas can next to the outboard motor. We zoomed around other boats meeting people (fireworks day), and we were pulled over by the Coast Guard. Lucky not to go to jail or blow up. Not exactly safe. But, we always had fun. Ellen was beautiful and fun. I always hoped we’d get together back in Cincy. Never enough time. But, never forget the times we shared ❤️
