Obituary of Jane M. Allen

ALLEN Jane Mary (nee O’Neill), resident of Twin Lakes Senior Living Community in Montgomery, Ohio, born June 20th, 1930, in Saginaw MI (age 92), passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023, beloved wife of the late Richard. Survivors include daughter Martha (Benito) of Chicago, a brother, Terence (Ethel) of Saginaw, MI, nephew Jamie (Betty), nieces Peggy, Lilly (Ed), Ann Marie (Ian), Mary (Dan), grandnephews Matt (Adriane), Mike (Ginny), Neil, Stuart, Colin, Kevin, and Terence, grandnieces Elizabeth and Ella, great-grandnephews Jackson and Emmett, cousin/goddaughter Patsy (Bob), dear friends Bea, Marilyn, Ellie, and Jane T, grandcats Sapphire, Ruby and Loki, other relatives and friends, and the wonderful staff of Walden Court Memory Care at Twin Lakes. Jane was passionate about volunteering and helping others, both during her employment with the Cincinnati Public Schools and even more following her retirement. Before dementia took the majority of her life, she also loved playing bingo, caring for plants, attending concerts, plays, and movies, traveling to Michigan with her daughter to visit relatives, and cheering for the Bengals, Reds, and all Michigan-based sports teams. In addition to her beloved husband, Jane was also preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and James E. O’Neill Sr., a son, Timothy (who was born prematurely and died shortly thereafter) a brother, James Jr, a sister-in-law Nancy, dear friends Lea, Dottie, Susan, Beulah, Bernice, and Janet, dogs Bud, Jet, and Mercer, granddog Reilly, and grandcat Phat Cat. In lieu of flowers, donations/memorials may be made to the Glad House of Cincinnati, the East End (Cincinnati) Community Center, any Ronald McDonald House or Meals on Wheels charity, or any Dementia/Alzheimer's organization. Memorial service will be private.
