I am not surprised to read of Phil's legacy of generosity and his interest in others - I certainly experienced that myself over the years. I always looked up to him as a great example of hard work and humility and I will remember him as a great role model. Sending my condolences to the entire Myers family.

A family Christmas party at Phil & Julie’s house was a tradition the Taylor family enjoyed many years. It was an opportunity to re-connect with relatives, meet new family members, play a (crazy/humiliating/fun) game together and share a meal. We’ll miss the hospitality and kindness shared with us on these and other occasions. Phil was a special person and will be missed by each of us…. Marsha, David, Jason, Chris & Brian Taylor

Phil took such an interest in people's lives and his kindness and sincerity were reflected in his warm smile. He reminded me a lot of my own father that way. The last time I saw Phil was at a birthday party for his daughter Beth. We chatted and he was engaging, happy to be surrounded by his friends and family, and healthy. That's how I'll remember him.

It was my honor to have known Phil from his early days at United Dairy Farmers, later on when he was on the staff at Hunter Savings and finally as a top executive at Provident Bank. Phil never changed through all of this. Phil was a straight shooter all during the years I knew him. I am equally certain that Phil is with God Almighty now and forever. May Phil rest in the palm of Almighty God now and forever.

I am so sorry about your family's great loss in the passing of Phil. I first met Phil when he interviewed me for a job at Provident Bank in 1988, a choice I never regretted. Later, he turned over major portions of his loan portfolio to me, maybe he trusted me. Over the years, when I made a loan promise that I no authority to make, I would go to Phil's office to ask for forgiveness, permission was too late. After some verbal abuse about the "abuse of power - or lack thereof, he would always forgive and countersign the loan documents with me. I considered Phil a friend and one of my favorite mentors. He will be missed by many, including me. Greg Noll
