Victor Schaffer, aged 93, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2021. Born December 13, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the eldest of five children: he is survived by one sister, Gloria (John) Plajer, of Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Victor is also survived by his children, Joseph (Lucinda) Balmos, Candace (Joseph) Deeken, and William (the late Janet) Balmos; his grandchildren, Christina (Roberta Ruddock) Balmos, Rev. Lydia (Jefferson) Casey, Brian (Dr. Amy) Deeken, Jennifer (Jeff) Brining, and Scott Balmos; great-grandchildren, Carter, Landon, Isaac, Mallie, J.R., Serenity and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patricia (nee Hanning) Balmos, and a companion, Betty. Victor retired from the printing department at Cincinnati Time Recorder. His interests included history, art, music, nature, and travel. He was a United States Navy veteran. Services will be held privately for his family.
