Betty, Don & Silverton Hardware Family. I've been shopping at Silverton Hardware for 12 years. With every visit I got a warm welcome, a laugh, a smile and so much more from Wil. He treated my young sons with granfatherly affection and gave me words of wisdom and encouragement when they were mis-behaving for me at the store. My heart aches for your loss. I do believe he continues to watch over the store, and I look forward to my next trip in to simply pause at the door and smile because he'll have already welcomed me.

Our condolonces and sympathy go out to all in Will's family. Will was such a good person and all of us were happy to see him in the store often. George, Sr. has been going to the store with his grandfather, George Harrison, since he was a kid in the late 1940's. To Betty, Donnie and your family you have our prayers. George, Patricia and George M. Quigley, Jr.

For 32 years, I always enjoyed coming into the store and the help and friendly banter I had with Will was a high point. I think my life was much better for the time I spent at the store. Will was a civic treasure...a source of boundless information, and a joy to his customers. I know Don and the family will carry on the tradition of this kind man.

To the Meinzen family: Don, I always enjoyed my many visits to Silverton Hardware. Your father was always very cordial and knowledgable. His small store provided the service that is lacking in the large corporate hardware operations. He was truly an asset to the community. He will be missed. You are an upstanding man due his rearing.

Growing up next door to the Meinzens has left me with many memories. Will (or "Mr. Meinzen", as I remember him from when I was little) was always busy in the yard and around the pool, but never too busy for a friendly hello and a smile. We played in their yard as well as ours and we were always welcome to spend some rambunctious or restful time around the pool. Even after lots of growing up and moving around I still find myself waving hi to Will and coming over to the pool to relax whenever we're in town. Only now it's with my kids. To Will, to Betty, to all of the Meinzens, thanks for a lot of memories from growing up as your neighbor. Will's quick smile will be remembered warmly.

I am so sad to hear Mr. Meinzen has passed. He and his family at Silverton Hardware have helped me so much over the years. I always know, that if I need anything or have a question, I can just hop on over there and I will be helped with a smile. Our community has definitely lost a sweet, hardworking, generous soul. I know his legacy will live on if we can use him as an example of being a good person!
