Dear Nina and family, I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Lois' passing when I saw her obituary this morning. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.
Clovy was my "big boss" when I started at Great American in 1976, but I didn't meet Lois at that time. I actually met her years later through our common, dear friend, Mary Beth Schuder. I know Mary Beth treasured Lois' friendship. Lois and I mourned the loss of Mary Beth together.
It was during those years that Lois convinced me that I could handle driving in Europe as long as I "had a good map and avoided the big cities". My husband, Tom, and I have enjoyed several driving vacations in France and Germany thanks to Lois' encouragement and good advice! I know Lois loved and cherished her trips to Europe with Nina. When I last communicated with Lois (by text), she was looking forward to this years' trip! I was lucky enough to meet Nina once for lunch - at Seasons 52, I think.
Because we winter in Florida, I only had the chance to see Lois a few times a year, but I always loved our conversations over long brunches at First Watch! She always made me laugh! I will miss her.
Once again, my deepest sympathy. We are in Florida now, so I will not have the chance to extend my sympathy in person. Please know I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry for your loss - for all of our loss. Lois was my realtor - my niece was her neighbor and put us in touch with each other when I was going to move up here from Asheville. When I went out to look at properties with Lois the first time, I remember thinking "I just love her!" because she was so funny, down to earth, genuine and she cracked me up sometimes. No pretension. After I moved up here I took her to lunch to thank her. A couple of weeks ago I emailed her to thank her for a recommendation she had given me for an HVAC co. and she emailed me back maybe a couple of days before she passed. She told me about her trip to Italy, that she was looking forward to her sister coming for the holidays, and said "Let's get together again for lunch - I'd really like that." And suddenly, she's gone. I was stunned as all of you must be. I'm so sad and really, when you get right down to it, I hardly knew her. But she made an impression on me those few days we spent together finding me a place to live. I felt like I might have made a new friend. I'm broken-hearted that she is gone and so sad for you, her family. She will be greatly missed.

Lois, was one in a million. We met in 1989 when she became our realtor for the move to Cincinnati. What began as a business relationship blossomed into a lasting friendship. We met Clovy and along with Bob and Sheilah Adams we created a lifetime of memories. Some of the most fun dinners one could possibly have. Parties at our house and theirs, a trip in 1998 to Maui with my entire family became legendary. The trip to Great Britain to celebrate their wedding anniversary was one laugh after the other. Lois became a treasured friend to Betsy. They spoke to each other several times a week, had lunches and breakfasts together and of course played Mexican Train and Hand and Foot with their special group of ladies once a month. Lois was a gracious hostess, a loving friend and a kind soul. She will be missed. She and Clovy are together and planning one heck of a party in all of our futures.
