Hi my name is Carol Dawson nee Place, I'm the niece of Harry and Sadie my dad was Billy Place.
I've been doing some research and sadly found this, Sandra was my cousin though we never met.

I think of Sandy everyday. For my birthday one year, she gave me a daily date reminder. Everyday when I change the blocks to the correct date, I think of her and smile. I miss her very much. We had lots of fun the times we were in the office at CCCHMC OP Drake on the same day. She was a very special lady loved by patients and staff.

Sandy was a fantastic woman who will be missed greatly. I had the pleasure of knowing "Mom" through her daughter Erika. She always brought a smile to my face when I seen her. Rest assured that she is looking down upon us and no longer in pain. My prayers will be with her family.

Sandy and I were college friends and have kept in contact over the years, some years a Christmas card, a phone call, long letters, a visit, some years more frequently, some periodic. I loved Sandy as a sister. As college students and as young adults, we went through jubilation, as well as trials and tribulations together. Her beautiful smile, her perky demeanor, her love of her children, the joys shared, the tears wept, her deep belief in the Lord, her iron-willed attempts to beat the illnesses she endured --these will be my fondest memories of Sandy. Sandy is in heaven, I am sure--and she is home with the Lord and her family who have gone before--all who met her with arms open wide and a greeting, "Welcome home my child. No more pain or tears." May God have mercy on Sandra and may her daughters Michelle, Lisa, and Erika know that we have all been blessed by Sandy's time with us.

Sandy was a co-worker of mine at Children's and she was one of the most adored CSRs that we have had here at Drake. She was loved by so many of the kids here. I will miss her smiling face. I will continue to keep all her family and friends in my prayers in the weeks to come.

Dear Grandma Thank you for all your love. It was so awesome when you would babysit us after school and bring us a new and exciting books to read!! It was my pleasure to work with Sandy for almost 4 years. She was an inspiration to so many. We shared many days together at Drake, just talking and getting to know one another. She was a real trooper throughout her entire illness. Sandy shared with me that she liked John Denver's 'take me home country road'. God has now taken her home on that country road. She will be missed.

It was my pleasure to work with Sandy at Children's Hospital at Drake. Sandy loved all the kids who came in for treatment and, of course, they loved her. She was so dedicated to her work. Even after she got sick, her dedication to her work and the kids kept her strong. I will miss her wonderful smile and joy.

My dear friend of 43 years. What a treasure you were. So many wonderful memories . The fun we had when the children were growing up , dinners together, sporting events, pool time with the kids.
