Byers
Diane Petty Byers, 71, of Indian Hill, died peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2016 with her family. She went home to be with the Lord. Born in Ithaca, New York, on October 6, 1944, Diane was the oldest of five children of the late Jane and John Petty. She grew up in Sabina and Wilmington - graduating from Wilmington High School in 1962, Wilmington College in 1966, and earned her Master’s Degree in Guidance & Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. After graduation she taught at Shroder High School in Cincinnati and Hollywood Hills High School in Hollywood, FL. Diane married the love of her life, Ken, on August 25, 1972. For over 25 years, Diane volunteered for the Anderson Barracudas Swim Team/Anderson Hills Swim & Tennis Club. Diane’s interests were family first; but also she enjoyed swimming, her animals, anything that comes into bloom and cheering for her children/grandchildren’ sports teams. Diane loved all animals – if it was a creature she probably raised one at some time or another! She loved teaching and laughing with kids! She loved to go to UC and Bengal games! She loved planting anything and watching it flourish. And she loved life and shared that love with many. She was known for her loyalty, honesty, tireless work ethic, uncomplaining manner, and acceptance of all people! She lived by the life quote “…don’t judge anyone’s choices without understanding their reasons.” Diane was preceded in death by her parents Jane and John Petty; in-laws Ruth and Ken Byers Sr.; brother-in-law Walt Byers; and special friends Larry Lyons, Michael Couch and Katie Linz. She is survived by her husband Kenneth V. Byers Jr.; her daughters, Juli McCabe, Kim Mahan, Kristi (Brantley) Dreisbach; her sons, Jeff Byers, Matt (Tracey) Byers, Brandon (Melissa) Byers; her grandchildren Erin and Jared McCabe, Jacob Mahan, Quinn Byers, Sienna and Brooke Byers, Tobin, Kelsie, Kenzie, Calder, and Wylder Dreisbach, and Brayden Byers; her brothers John (Pam) Petty, Duane (Fiffy) Petty; her sisters Dale Fuller, Denise Petty; deer Ginger, horse Nayla, dog Vino, kitties Big John and Janie –O, and turtle Tomi; numerous special nephew and nieces. The family will receive friends at Thomas – Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 9:30-11:00am followed by a celebration of her life at 11am. From 1-3pm we will get together at the Kenwood Country Club. Please come and help us celebrate her extraordinary life. Diane was a blessing we will forever hold in our hearts. “I thank my God every time I remember you.” Philippians 3:1 (NIV). She would be pleased if remembrances be made to Public Works Department of Indian Hill, Clermont to the Rescue Humane Society, 4025 Fillager Rd. Batavia, OH (45103) or The Growing Room Pre-School of Madeira, 7754 Camargo Rd. #8, (45243).
