Mom and Katie were best friends since college. If I heard Mom giggling on the phone, I never needed to ask to whom she was speaking. "Say 'Hi' to Katie for me". When I was in my teens, Mom asked who I would want to raise me if something happened to her and Dad. "Katie, of course." Katie loved her children dearly, but they had rules. On the other hand, her dogs lead the life of Riley. "Katie, if I die, I want to be reincarnated as one of your dogs." "Kyle, you could be one of my children." "I know, Katie, but I've seen the job description, and I want to be one of your dogs." (Giggles) I didn't need to ask to be one of her children. She was always my other Mother, and the world was a better, warmer place because of that. Now I see her united with the God she loved and served, and reunited with Clyde, and her own dearly beloved Mother, and many dear friends, and my Mom. Let the giggling begin in Heaven!

Claudia, Kathy, and Richard My deepest sympathy on the death of your dear mother. I have to tell you that one of my fondest memories is coming home for lunch in grade school and my mom and yours would be drinking martini's and Kay would bring me a Big Boy for lunch. (A Huge Treat, I would see her car in the driveway and run the rest of the way home) My mother was usually taking a nap when I came home for the day! They were the greatest of friends and your mom was always so thoughtful of me. It was a pleasure to know her.
