Obituary of Daniel E. "Danny" Hunt
Daniel E. “Danny” Hunt, cherished son of Robert M. and Nancy E. (nee Burkholder) Hunt, devoted brother of Rob (Tiffany) Hunt, and adoring uncle to Zachary, Elijah, Seth, and Sara Hunt. He was also a cousin, a nephew, and a generous friend to way too many people to mention by name. But what could be considered the most important role, was his role as father to Loki, his rescued Norwegian Elk Hound.
Danny was born in Cincinnati on November 27, 1972. He went to Madeira High School.
He was the kind of person who needed to work for himself, so he made a living owning and running his own businesses. But his true passion was music. Danny was a gifted musician. He touched so many lives through the songs he wrote and the songs he sang. He was a member of the local bands, Uncles 6, Highway Radio and Crown Watts. He was also a record producer, producing the record Highway Radio. If there was a crowd that needed entertaining, Danny was more than willing to get to work impressing them with his music.
He also loved the outdoors and had a talent for fishing. All of the cherished times spent in the north woods of Ontario, Canada fishing, chasing moose and taking in the beautiful scenery and northern nights. His favorite place was Pellow’s Cottages on the Chapleau River in the Algoma Country region of Ontario.
Danny had a love for animals, rescuing many of them, fostering others, and caring deeply for the ones who became part of his family.
And his incredible sense of humor and a knack for practical jokes was legendary.
For those who knew Danny, you know he wanted to be cremated. Though we have not planned a service yet, we will be having one for the near future and we will be updating this site with that information once it has been scheduled. Someone like Danny needs to be celebrated.
We will be maintaining his Facebook profile as a legacy account in the future.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Danny's memory to Recycled Doggies, an organization that rescues dogs from shelters and places them in foster homes until they can find a forever home. Danny fostered dogs as well, and this was a special organization to him. https://recycleddoggies.com
