Obituary of Billie A. Bartholomew

Billie Aileen Bartholomew (nee Martin), beloved wife of 58 years to the late David H. Bartholomew, cherished mother of Leslie A. (Charles) Lambert, of Tucker, GA., Nancy E. (Patrick) Osborne, of Loveland, OH., and David M. (Sonya Moon) Bartholomew, of Centerville, OH. and a devoted grandmother to three grandsons, David and Michael Lambert and Benjamin Streicher. Billie was born on November 4, 1927, in Alva, Kentucky, to the late Charles and Cora (nee Smith) Martin. She was a loving sister to Charles Martin, of Tulsa, OK., and the late Doris Lee, Gail Sparnall, Cecil Martin and Jack Martin. Billie graduated from Norwood High School in 1945 and worked as a switchboard operator for the next 9 years. She married her husband David in 1954. After her children became a little older, she worked as a sales associate at McAlpin’s Department Store from 1979 until 1999. At an early age Billie began attending church and was a devoted Christian throughout her life. She was an affectionate friend and neighbor, and wherever she went she was happy and cheerful. She will be greatly missed by the ones who knew her, especially her children, who have lost a devoted mother. The Bartholomew Family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at Mason Health Care Center for the excellent care they showed Billie this past year. Billie passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 97. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 24th from 5-7P.M. at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 10A.M. at the funeral home.
