Obituary of Richard Dickman

Richard Wayne Dickman, beloved husband of 57 years to Patricia Gail (nee Boaz) passed away on Tuesday, August 27th in his home. Cherished father to Steve (Tara) Dickman and Brian (Dawn) Dickman, loving grandfather to Erin (Tony) Leslie, Bo (Jenny) Dickman, Alex Dickman, Taylor (Tom) Fletcher, Ryan Dickman, and Great Gramps to Stevie and Porter Leslie. Preceded in death by his parents Thelma and Bill Dickman and brothers Denny and Bill Long. Survived by brother Boyce (Karen) Dickman. Rich was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He spent most of his career working for Hamilton County Engineers and has been a dedicated member of the Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati for decades. His kindness and love for others will truly be missed and celebrated. Rich was a serious Ohio State football fan. You could find him watching his Bucks on Saturdays while only drinking from his OSU tumbler. He also loved Sunday funday cookouts with his family and neighbors. One of Dick’s favorite places to be spending vacation with his family in Indian Rocks Beach. He was able make many trips to IRB over the last few years. He loved watching the sunsets, playing with his great grandkids, looking for dolphins and enjoying some live music and a good meal with the ones he loved at Crabby Bills. As such, his ashes will make their way back to IRB for one final trip. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 30th, on none other than OSU vs. Michigan football game day. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner’s Hospital in Rich’s name.
