Jon Burns

Obituary of Jon G. Burns

Jon Gerard Burns was peacefully called home to God on August 30, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He was 58 years old. Jon was deeply cherished by his parents, John and Judy Burns, his sisters, Megan Burns and Robin Ruwe (Dave), and his brothers, Chris Burns (Denise) and Steve Burns (Debbie). His nieces, Heidi Ryall (Jon), Hannah Wolfe (Harrison), Heather Ruwe, Sarah Dotson (Mark), and Brittney Burns. His nephews, Michael Burns, Joseph Burns, Bryan Burns, and Alex Burns held a very special place in his heart. Beyond his family, Jon was a friend to many. He had an incredible memory for names and details, always keeping track of how old people were and where they lived. He brought warmth and energy to every room he entered. Jon had a deep love for country music and never missed a Saturday evening watching Lawrence Welk. Jon loved driving around, listening to John Denver, and spending time visiting his siblings. Sundays were his favorite time to relax at home in his robe with his mom and dad. Jon had a passion for libraries, spending Saturday mornings selecting his books and enjoying nightly reading sessions with his dad. His work at Kids Center in Reading, Ohio, was very meaningful to him, and his family extends their gratitude to the kind people who worked with Jon over the past 20 years. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 9th from 10AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial, 11AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7121 Plainfield Road (45236), Deer Park.
