Obituary of Flo M. Stanaford

Flora Mary Haney Stanaford, always known as Flo, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 25, 2024 surrounded by her family Flo grew up in the West End of Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of James and Eleanor Haney. Flo had a sister, Norma, eight years younger. Flo was united in marriage with Ed (Si) Stanaford and they had the fortune of many happy years together. Daughters Sherry Stieritz and Gina Stanaford came along a few years later. She enjoyed entertaining, family gatherings and dancing. Some of her favorite memories were on the dance floor jitterbugging with Si and listening to popular music. Flo loved to travel, especially family trips to the beach and national parks. Mom was a devoted Catholic and she shared her faith with her family. Flo was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother (Meme), aunt, daughter and friend. Flo was an excellent cook and hosted many holidays with scratch made food. Flo was known for her being thoughtful and ensured all in the family had a memorable birthday celebration. Flo was giving of her time as a volunteer in her daughters'. school and in her community. After dedicating herself to raising her daughters, she worked at the census bureau and later was an interviewer at a market research firm. In addition to working, she greatly enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She knew how to have fun and had a youthful spirit. Survivors include her dear husband Ed (Si) Stanaford and devoted daughters Sherry (Jim) Stieritz and Gina Stanaford. Three grandchildren, Jared Cox (Jessica), Eric Cox, Amber Stieritz Nebbia (Hunter) and great granddaughter, Charlotte Nebbia. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Eleanor Haney and sister Norma. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1st from 10AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial, 11AM at St. Saviour Parish, 4136 Myrtle Ave. (45236) Rossmoyne. Entombment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Flo’s memory to The City Gospel Mission, 1805 Dalton St. (45214), or online at citygospelmission.org
