Obituary of Cynthia “Cinnie” Albl

Cynthia Hackett Albl (“Cinnie”) passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on Tuesday, August 1st, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the beloved wife of Michael (“Mike”) with whom she shared her life’s journey for 70 years, including 67 years of marriage. Cynthia is survived by her children Michael, Chris, and Amy, as well as her grandchildren Alice, Emily, and Adam. Cynthia was born in Ligonier, Pennsylvania on September 21st, 1933, to Robert and Helen Hackett. She was a graduate of Wittenberg University, where she majored in child development and was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. In addition to her commitment to family, she was extremely active in her church (Armstrong Chapel) and in the broader Cincinnati community. She was a founding member of Kindervelt, which is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to raising funds for Cincinnati Children’s hospital. To date, Kindervelt has raised more than $20 Million for specialty care divisions within the hospital. Cynthia was also active with the Junior League of Cincinnati as well as P.E.O. International, a philanthropic organization related to the advancement of women. She was a pre-school teacher and was also the Director of St. Paul Nursery School for 25 years. Cynthia was beautiful inside and out. She was in newspaper advertisements and television commercials in the 1960s and was also named a “Queen City Beauty” in the early 1970s. She had a wonderful personality with a quick wit, and she never met a stranger. On most Friday evenings for over 40 years, Mike and Cynthia could be found dining at the Skyline Chili in Kenwood, Ohio where they also managed the collections and processing of the Kindervelt donations from that store. The Albl family is very thankful to all those who were a special part of Cynthia's life journey. A memorial service will be held at Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church, 5125 Drake Road in Indian Hill on August 15th at 10am.
