Obituary of Adele Garneret

GARNERET Adele (nee Wesley), beloved wife of the late Martin Garneret, Jr., loving mother of Debra (Steve) Hill and Marty (Bonnie) Garneret III, devoted grandmother of Joshua (Brandy) Hill, Adam (Katie) Hill, Aaron (Megan) Hill, Jason Garneret, Courtney Bove, and Martin (Karrie) Garneret IV. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren. Adele was the oldest living graduate from the Cincinnati Art Academy. She was a prolific artist who began her career as an illustrator for Shillito’s, Pogues, and other famous Cincinnati department stores. She was a past president of the Women’s Art Club of Cincinnati and started a club called The Brushettes. Her loves were her art and her church. She lived life on her own terms, and died on her own terms as well, happily making it passed 100 years. Mrs. Garneret passed away on Tuesday, June 20th at the age of 102. The family invites friends to the visitation on Friday, June 30th from 9:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00AM at Ascension Lutheran Church, 7333 Pfeiffer Rd. (45242). Mrs. Garneret will be laid to rest next to her husband at Rest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donation may be directed to either The Women’s Art Club of Cincinnati “The Barn”, 6980 Cambridge Ave. (45227) or The Cincinnati Art Academy, 1212 Jackson St. (45202).
