Obituary of Robert C. Kinsel

Robert (Bob) Carl Kinsel, 90, died on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years Dorothy (nee Voll) Kinsel; his 3 children Jennifer (Yacoub) Kordahi, Amy (Marc) Goebel, and Thomas Kinsel; his 5 grandchildren: Andrew (Stephanie) Kordahi, Talia Kordahi (fiancé Chris Gilmore), Ryan Kordahi, Adam Goebel, and William Goebel; his sister, Carole White; and many close friends. Born in Oak Harbor, Ohio, Bob was the son of Carl and Fannie Kinsel. He earned his degree from Tri-State College (now Trine University) in Indiana, began his working career in Texas, and then settled in Cincinnati, Ohio where he worked for Cincinnati Milacron in the Electrical Systems Division for 30 years. Robert and Dorothy married October 5th, 1963, and raised their family in Pleasant Ridge, where they were members of Saint Peter’s United Church of Christ. Bob was an amateur radio enthusiast and a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). He also enjoyed attending the annual “Hamvention” festival in Dayton, Ohio. He could often be found tinkering in the basement with his Ham Radio (broadcasting by the call sign, “W8DNS”). Bob had a passion for astronomy and enjoyed fixating his telescope on targets among the stars. He was an avid reader and a 60-year member of the Valley of Cincinnati. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11th, from 10 am until the time of the Masonic and Scottish Rite services at 12 pm at the Thomas-Justin Memorial, located at 7500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236. A procession will follow to Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Kentucky for the burial. All are welcome to attend.
