Obituary of Rita Vetter

Rita Vetter, 94, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, surrounded by the love of all her family. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mamie Gallenstein, the beloved wife of the late James A. Vetter; devoted mother of Mary Henri Vetter, Jamie Ingram, Tony (Polly) Vetter, Rita Miller, Patricia (Terry) Stecz, Stephanie (Doug) Merk, Courtney (Phillip) Helgeson, and Scott (Jane) Vetter; devoted grandmother of Emily and Michael Ingram, Jimmy, Nicole, and Henry Vetter, Sean (Shirley) and Taylor Miller, Justin (Shannon) Stecz, Courtney Elder, Maggie, Steven and Jeffrey Merk, Lauren ( Alex) Frazier, and Lindsey (Brian) Stiens, proud great-grandmother of Maria Daniel, Jackson, and Regan Stecz, Declan Miller, Bailey and Brooke Frazier, and Peyton, James, and Addison Stien. Rita was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry, Joseph, and Harry Gallenstein, and her sisters, Roseanne O’Keefe, and Frances Bloemker. Rita will be remembered for her indomitable will, her competitive spirit, her love of sports (especially those played by athletes from the GCL schools, Xavier University, and the University of Notre Dame), and her ability to navigate “complex personalities” of her eight children. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, March30th, from 10AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial, 11AM, at St. Cecilia Church, 3105 Madison Rd. (45209) Oakley.
