Obituary of Dr. James Henry LeVan

LEVAN Dr. James Henry, Jr., beloved husband for 59 years to Arlene Ann (nee Zychowski), cherished father of Timothy (Ann), Marc (Monika), Sharon, and Scott LeVan. Devoted grandfather of Thomas, Stewart, Linnea, and Savannah. Loving cousin of Ellis Adams. James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth LeVan, and his younger brother Raymond. Dr. LeVan was born in Chicago, IL and graduated from Great Neck High School in Great Neck, NY. He received his bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University and went on to earn a doctorate degree in doctorate degree in medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. From 1962 until 1966, Dr. LeVan served in the Coast Guard in the Public Health Services in New London, CT, at the Coast Guard Academy as a surgeon. Dr. LeVan spent decades, tirelessly serving patients in the Greater Cincinnati-Tri State area as an orthopaedic surgeon. He also served as an orthopaedic surgeon for nine years in Keokuk, IA. The family would like to invite friends and family to a visitation on Tuesday, March 16th from 11:00AM until the time of the Masonic A&FM service at 11:50AM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236). There will be a funeral service following the visitation, at 1:00PM at their church, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, S. Lebanon Rd., Loveland (45140). Dr.LeVan will be laid to rest with his family, at Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading, PA.
