I wish to offer my condolences to the Kummerle family for their loss. Some years back I had the pleasure of meeting Werner during the course of work we (Oak Ridge National Laboratory) were starting with Metalex. It was a pleasure and privilege to meet Werner as we initiated our (continuing) working relationship. His military service, leadership at Metalex, and warm personality made a lasting impression. May he rest in peace.

In the spring of 1984 I sat across the table from Werner Kummerle to discuss what, at the time, was only a dream. I had the desire to start a business and Werner, obviously, had the know how. After hearing my plan Werner decided to take a chance on a young man and invest his time and his money in my dream; my future. That conversation changed my life. It afforded me the opportunity to embark on a lifelong dream. Werner was an unbelievable mentor, a customer but ultimately the greatest friend I've ever known.
I'm so sorry for your loss Sue. He was truly a remarkable man and will be missed.

Werner was one of the smartest and hardest working persons that I have ever met. His commitment to the customers and team members of Metalex was an inspiration to everyone. It has been my privilege to watch his accomplishments over the last 34 years, and the world is a little less bright with his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kummerle family.

One of the best recent memories of Werner was earlier this year on a Saturday as I was leaving his office, I turned to him and said, “Have a good weekend.” He did not say the normal “you too” or “thanks”. He simply said with a grin, “I will”. He seemed so content and satisfied.
Werner was a great man and leader and I am lucky to have known him. He was a huge influence in my life and will be truly missed. Our condolences to the Kummerle family.

Werner loved making his pretzels .I am very grateful that he passed his baking lesson on to me. I feel very blessed that I was able to spend some one on one time with him doing what he loved. He always laughed when we worked together, telling me I was flipping them backwards but in the end I finally was able to meet his expectations.
He brought a smile to everyone's face when it was pretzel day.
Werner will definitely be missed by so many. My heart goes out to Sue, Tina, Kip , Kevin and their families.

WK was more than a boss to me, he was my mentor and hero. He taught me more about life and responsibilities than even my own father. He was a genius and one of the hardest working men that I've ever met in my life. He was so proud of his kids and loved Sue so much. The world has lost a great, great man and he will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to Tina, Kipper, Kevin and their families and especially to Sue

My most sincere condolences to the Kummerle family. Werner was a true friend and mentor, I looked forward to our meetings. As anyone who knew WK, knows that sometimes those meetings were better experiences than others. But one thing for sure, WK was a man you could trust. He was a straight forward, no bullshit, hard-driven leader you could count on, along with being compassionate and understanding. We’ll miss ya WK, but you will not be forgotten. Your legacy will live on.
