Obituary of William Rhodenbaugh
William Charles Rhodenbaugh (Bill), beloved husband of the late Ruth McVicker Rhodenbaugh. Born in Akron, Ohio on January 1, 1929, Bill was the son of Charles and Almeda Rhodenbaugh. Preceded in death by his sister Joyce Rhodenbaugh West. Survived by his 5 sons and their spouses: Tim (LuraBeth), Joe (Louise), Tom (Mia), Bob (Pam) and David (Kim), 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Bill was a proud graduate of Miami University (1951) where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau, where he met his beloved Ruth, and where 9 of his family followed in his footsteps. Bill served in the United States Army as a Corporal during Korea as part of a heavy mortar company and he was the company clerk. Upon returning from Korea, Bill began working for Kutol Products Company as part of the second generation to be involved in the business. With his hard work and capable business sense, Kutol is a strong and thriving business entering its 4th generation. Bill, a member of Maketewah Country Club, was very involved in golf, including helping with local tournaments and serving as a USGA Official, officiating at 34 national tournaments. Past President of the Cincinnati Golf Association, Bill was honored as a Cincinnati “Legend of Golf” in 1991. The GCGA Pro-Am matches that he worked on for 26 years were his passion. Past member of the board of the Salvation Army. He lived in Vero Beach for many winters, where he enjoyed golfing, poker nights and hosting family and friends as visitors. Licensed as a private pilot, an inveterate traveler, having visited all 7 continents, Bill was always interested in seeing the world. A resident of Deupree House, previously a resident of Indian Hill. A member of Armstrong Chapel UMC for over 60 years, where he served as a Sunday school superintendent, as well as working on the committee to build the big church in the late 50’s. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 8th from 9:00-10:00AM at Armstrong Chapel UMC, in the Atrium, with a funeral service to follow at 10AM.
