My name is Jim Timmerman. I am with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences-Ohio Valley Chapter. Each year we produce an "In Memoriam" video that we play on our website and at our annual Emmy Gala. We would very much like to include an image or two of Ed. Can you send me a high resolution image? Ideally we would like an image of him working in a television capacity. However any images you can send will be welcome.
You can contact me at jimtimmerman@fuse.net or at 513-919-1243. I would be happy to even pick up any image(s), scan it and return it to you.
I worked with Eddie on numerous projects at WCPO and afterward with Central Satellite Service. He will be very much missed.
Sincerely,
Jim

Faye: I'm so very sorry for your loss. I remember Butch as loving, compassionate, generous, caring & humorous. I remember the hundreds of festivals where we would run into you & Butch. He seemed to roll his eyes & drudgingly carry all your daily finds. However, we knew he didn't mind because the next weekend & the many following weekends, he'd be right by your side, @ another festival lovingly carrying all your daily treasures. Butch always had a joke & a smile, attended our many salon parties, always remembered everyone's name & acknowledged each with a kind word or joke. I remembered how he cared for each family member as needs would arise: always ready, willing & able. Butch's radiance will remain with us. We are richer by having known him. May the Lord bless you & your family, granting each of you peace & sweet memories at this difficult time. Most sincerely, Love, MJ

Eddie (Butch) has been a friend of our family for most of my life.
Starting in 1995 I worked with Eddie on my off days from the firehouse. During that time I had the opportunity to work on many interesting and unique projects. With microwave equipment on every rooftop imaginable and working with the many local television stations engineers and we always had the best seat for the fireworks.
Eddie was great resource for the local fire departments and was well known and respected by everyone in the community for his knowledge of radio communications.
Eddie was a great mentor in the electronics business and became a very close personal friend to me. His friendship is one I will always cherish and Eddie will be dearly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with Faye during this very difficult time.

I have known Ed, “Butch” as our family called him, all my life. We were neighbors in Deer Park. Our families traveled on many vacations together and I often enjoyed my 2nd dinner of the day at their house while growing up.
Ed’s father owned a TV radio repair business in Deer Park where I spent a lot of my youth looking over both Ed and Ed senior’s shoulder learning electronic repair. I was fortunate to have their guidance and friendship. When Ed came back from the Vietnam war he changed the direction of their business towards 2-way radio and communications which became Myers Electronics.
Ed was a pioneer and an inventor in electronics and communications. He was one of the first people in Cincinnati to have a satellite dish. I remember going to Arkansas with him to pick up the 13-foot dish and trailer it back to Dillionvale. Jerry Bath and Paul Steman helped weld up a motorized mount.
He was a very caring and generous person as well. If anyone needed help with a project, he was the first one to lend a hand.
We had numerous adventures together that I will treasure forever.
My sincere condolences to Faye and Marty Wright and family members.

Dear Faye, My mom (Lillian Smith) saw Eddie's obituary in the paper today. Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss. I have not seen you in quite awhile, but you always recognized Mom and me when we were out and were always so kind. You and Eddie have been through a tough time. I hope and pray that you find some peace after Eddie's terrible illness and that your happy memories sustain you as you move into a different phase of your life. May God be with you, Diane Buerkle (the Klasmeier's cousin).

As has already been mentioned by others, if it was a live television event in the region, Ed was the reason it got on air and stayed on the air. Ed was not only a great “go to” guy to solve a problem or engineer a solution to fit a need, but he was one of the nicest folks in the business. Sure he had that tough outer image, but Eddie was good, kind and thoughtful. While his company worked in the electronics field, Ed's business was people, and he excelled.
Prayers for Ed, Faye and their extended family. May he rest in peace.

Met Butch the first time in 1976 when I joined Silverton Fire Dept. we both attended EMT class at Madeira Fire Dept. Then over the years we became close friends. I engraved all his tags for the radio and TV stations. He was the only one I knew that could use his fingers on a printed circuit board and tell you where the problem was located. Had many good times going out with Butch and Faye. Will miss him.

Butch was a member of the family. From flying airplanes to lunch at Chicken. He shamed dad into central air, and a satellite dish. A lot of time was spent at the shop, or on our back porch. He was kind and funny, and could whistle like no one else I’ve ever heard. He will be missed. Hey Butch, dad is waiting for you with a beer on the back porch!!

Eddie " Butch " as the family called him was the absolute best brother anyone could ever have to share the ups and downs with in a lifetime. He was always there for me, Faye , our parents and my family no matter what we needed. He was so strong fighting to keep going during the 8 plus years suffering constantly until his body so weakened until he could fight no more. He definitely earned his crown in Heaven where he will still be taking care of us as he always did. i love you Butch and will miss you every minute of every day .

Nearly every major “live” event I can remember preparing for in Cincinnati I remember Eddie being there long before I was, and long after, to make sure it would work. He loved doing what he did! He will be missed by many! I’m grateful he’s at peace and grateful I was able to work with him for so many years! Blessings to his family!

My fondest memories of Eddie is how well he took care of Family. When I met my brother in law about 47 years ago, I was a BRAT! Totaled my car but Eddie took care of it. When I was involved in a robbery at my workplace, he and my sister came and got me and took care of me. When my Dad was dying and I asked him if he had any worries, he said Yes. I called Ed and he took care of it right away! He would bake my Mom, cookies and take her out to eat. FAMILY was Everything to him. When I got cancer he would encourage me and tell my sister to spend time with me, when he was sick himself. I was so blessed to call him family, Rest in Peace in God's loving Arms.
