RUTH SALER June 20, 1956 – August 5, 2022 Mary Ruth Saler, 66, passed away at home, August 5th, in Cincinnati, survived by Dale Elliott, her incredibly blessed husband; her sons, DJ Reddig and Jeff (Marianna) Reddig; grandchildren, Bella and JJ Reddig; step-sons and -daughters, Sean (Lisa), Andrew (Kacie) and Nathan (Harley) Elliott; and grandchildren Rhianna and Sammy, Anderson and Maggie, Noah, Tori, LaVonne and Laila Elliott; and preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Frank “Joe” Saler, and treasured sister, Ann Williams. A woman of unmatched beauty, she showered her love on us all with a radiance and grace that were palpable. You wanted to be in her presence, whether you’d known her for a moment or a lifetime. Born a Texan, she lived much of her life near Houston, where she worked investor relations and raised her sons with the unconditional love of a Mom whose greatest pride was in being a Mom. She loved her work, her coworkers and circle of friends; they loved her and missed her greatly when she retired far sooner than they were prepared to accept, sold her home, and - of all things incomprehensible – left Texas. She did all this to be with Dale in Ohio. Ruth loved life, sly humor and clever wordplay, country music (within bounds) and classic rock (esp. Queen), periodic travels with friends and family, dressing up at Halloween, old movies, reading and crosswords. Always thoughtful and selfless, especially for one who suffered more medical anguish and deprivation in life than anyone should ever have had to endure, she was continually giving us, without even recognizing it, the greatest gift she had to give - herself. Memorials may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Journey to Hope, www.jtoh.org, or The American Red Cross, www.redcross.org. A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will take place in the Texas Hill Country. Once all is worked out, details will be made available.
