GALLENSTEIN

Frank Thomas, Sr., 93 passed away peacefully shortly after 8AM on Sunday, December 24th at his residence at The Lodge Care Center in Loveland. Frank, Sr. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Sauer Gallenstein, his parents Edward and Luella Gallenstein and brother Edward Gallenstein. Frank, Sr. was the loving father of Ella Frances (Tom) Gelhausen of Xenia, OH, Dr. Nancy Gallenstein of Conway, SC, Frank (Eileen) Gallenstein, Jr. of Amberley Village, and Gwenn Gallenstein of Flagstaff, AZ. He was a devoted grandfather of Jennifer (Rick) Shomo, Craig Gallenstein, Melinda Gelhausen, Christopher (Jill) Gelhausen and Thomas Gelhausen; adoring great-grandfather of Seth Harris, Julia Gallenstein, Ethan Gallenstein, Emily Gelhausen, Maria Shomo, Rachel Gelhausen, Caroline Shomo, Madden Smith and Patrick Smith. Frank, Sr. and Barbara were long-time members of St. Gertrude Church in Madeira. They spent many of their retired years in Panama City Beach during the winter months, making many friends while there.  Frank, Sr. was a Naval veteran of WWII aboard a Destroyer Escort in the South Pacific, and was a high school math teacher for Indian Hill and Walnut Hills High Schools.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28th from 8:30AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30AM at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, 6543 Miami Ave. (45243).
