BURKHARDT Cecile M. (nee Murphy), beloved wife for 42 years of the late Richard A. Burkhardt, Sr., having met him in Arizona while Dick was in the Air Force. Aside from the love of their family, they also shared a love of travel, with Hawaii being their favorite destination and a love of the symphony, at which they had a date every Friday night. She is the cherished mother of Susan (Tony) Murray, Kathy (Steve) Eberle, Connie (Gary) King and Rick (Barbara Rose) Burkhardt, loving grandmother of Sean Murray, Brian (Amy) Eberle and Maren (Mike) Wazyniak and Griffin Burkhardt, Dawn (John) Kuchar, Jason King and Anjanette (Michael) Stautberg, great-grandmother of Devon, Cian, Madilyn, Emma, Karylanne, Jacob, David, Brittney and Ava, great-great-grandmother of Brennan. She is also survived by her brothers, Jack (Annette) Murphy, John (Connie) Murphy and Jerry (Phyllis) Murphy. Passed away on Tuesday, April 19th at the age of 86. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the Parish Center on Monday, April 25th from 12noon until the time of Mass of Christian Burial 1PM at St. Gertrude Parish, 7630 Shawnee Run Rd. (45243) where she has been a member since 1969 and where she taught CCD. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mrs. Burkhardt was a devoted volunteer, donating her time and talents to the League of Women Voters, the Bethesda Hospital Auxiliary and several charity events as a model. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597 (45263) or St. Gertrude Parish.
